Find a Mortgage Broker — listing terms

Last updated: 7 October 2026 (version 2026-10-v2)

1. Who we are

Find a Mortgage Broker (findamortgagebroker.nz) is operated by Riverhorse Technologies Limited, a New Zealand company ("we", "us"). These terms apply to financial advisers and financial advice providers (FAPs) who have a listing on Find a Mortgage Broker ("you").

2. Your free Basic listing

  • Built from the public register. Your listing is built from the Financial Service Providers Register: your name, FSP number, the FAP you advise for, your advice types and region. We keep it in step with register updates.
  • It's free. The Basic listing costs nothing and stays free. You don't need to claim it or pay anything for it to appear.
  • Mortgage advisers only. This site shows mortgage advisers, and the FAPs they work for.

3. Claiming your listing

  • Sending the code or link. To claim, we send a code or link to the contact details we already hold for you. We never send it to an address you type in. A FAP claim is always approved by a person on our team.
  • Your confirmation. By claiming, you confirm the listing is yours and that what you add is accurate and kept up to date.
  • Checks after a claim. For 14 days after a claim we send a "Was this you?" check to the contact details we held before. If someone reports it wasn't them, the listing is frozen and put back to how it was.

4. What we show, and what we never show

  • What appears. Your listing shows register details, plus what you choose to add once you've claimed it: photo, introduction, services, areas and so on. Some details show only on Enhanced.
  • Never shown. We never show your phone number or email address on the site. Visitors contact you through Find a Mortgage Broker.
  • Your location. You choose how precisely it shows: full address, suburb, or region only.
  • No reviews or ratings. No reviews or ratings appear on any listing for now.

5. Enquiries

  • Where enquiries go. When a visitor sends you an enquiry or a calculator result, we forward it to the private email address you choose in your account.
  • Before you've claimed. We send it to the email address we hold for you, or our team passes it on if we don't hold one.
  • Not a marketplace. We don't sell, share or pass your enquiries to another adviser. A visitor's details are sent only after they've asked to be contacted and agreed to it.
  • Looking after enquiries. You're responsible for how you handle an enquiry once you receive it, including your obligations under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services and the Privacy Act 2020.

6. Paid plans

  • Prices. Paid plans (Finda Enhanced, NZMAI Professional, which includes Finda Enhanced, FAP plans and the Client Base Value Review) cost the prices shown on the site when you buy, plus GST. A FAP's size is the number of advisers linked to it on the Financial Service Providers Register when it buys the plan.
  • Payment and invoices. Payment is by card through Stripe. Plans renew automatically using your saved card. We email a reminder 30 days before a yearly renewal and 7 days before a monthly one. A tax invoice showing GST is available for every payment.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account ("Manage billing"). You keep Enhanced until the end of the period you've paid for, then your listing goes back to Basic. Nothing you've written is deleted.
  • Refunds. Annual plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee: if you ask within 30 days of your first payment, we refund that payment in full. Otherwise we don't refund part periods.
  • Trials. Our team may give you a free Enhanced trial. We email you 30 days and 7 days before it ends. When it ends, your listing goes back to Basic unless you choose a plan. No card is needed for a trial.
  • FAP plans. A FAP plan is one price for the whole business, by its size on the register. It includes Enhanced for advisers who have agreed to be included (consent (b)) and are current with that FAP on the register. A FAP can edit an adviser's listing only with that adviser's consent, and only while they're with that FAP. Every change is recorded.

7. Launch offer (while it runs)

  • The offer. While a launch offer runs, it applies as described on the site (on the upgrade screen and in your claim email) when you buy, until its end date.
  • Changes. We may change or end the launch offer for new purchases at any time. That doesn't affect anything you've already bought under it.
  • Your choice. If you tick "Feature me", we may feature you on Find a Mortgage Broker's Facebook and Instagram pages.
  • What we use. Featured posts use only your approved listing details and photo.
  • Withdrawing. You can untick it at any time in your account, and no further posts will be made. We remove past posts if you ask.
  • Who can be featured. Only Enhanced listings and Founding Partners.

9. Your information, and how we use it

  • What we use it for. We use the contact details we hold for you only to forward enquiries, to check it's really you (claims and sign-in), and to tell you about your listing and plan.
  • Other emails. We may also send occasional emails about Find a Mortgage Broker. Every one has a way to stop them.
  • Your reports. We count views, clicks on your links, QR scans, calculator use and enquiries for your listing, and send you regular reports. Click counting never identifies members of the public.
  • Who can see what. Your contact details and our records about you are kept private. Only our team can see them, and every change is recorded.
  • Privacy Policy and your rights. Our Privacy Policy (findamortgagebroker.nz/privacy) explains more. You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it.

10. Accuracy and our edits

  • Our edits. We may edit your listing to keep it accurate, for example when the register changes. We may also edit what you add, or hide it, if it's misleading, unlawful or breaks these terms. Every change is recorded with who made it.
  • Register details. Your name, FSP number, FAP and advice types come from the register. If they're wrong, use "Report a correction" in your account.

11. Leaving the register, removing your listing

  • If the register shows you've left. We hide your listing straight away. We never delete it at that point. We email you (if we hold an email address) to ask whether you're still advising, with two buttons: "I'm still advising — keep my listing" and "I've left — remove my listing". If you don't respond, we email again 14 days later. We remove (archive) your listing 14 days after that, or after 28 days if we hold no email address. A claimed, Enhanced or paying listing isn't emailed automatically: our team checks it first. If a later register update shows you're active again, your listing comes back.
  • If you want to remove your listing. You can opt out from any of our emails or from your account. Your listing is hidden at once, and you can restore it with the link we send. An archived listing can be restored by our team. It may be permanently deleted 90 days after it's archived.
  • Permanent deletion. You can ask us at any time to delete your listing permanently. We'll do it within 20 working days, unless the law requires us to keep records.

12. What you must not do

  • Accuracy. Don't add anything false, misleading or that you don't have the right to use, such as photos or logos.
  • Who can claim. Don't claim a listing that isn't yours.
  • Our site and data. Don't use the site, or anything it shows, to send unsolicited messages, or to copy or resell our listings.

13. Our responsibility

  • What we provide. We provide the listing service as it is. We try to keep it running and accurate, but can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
  • Advice. We don't give financial advice. Information on the site is general information only. We aren't party to any arrangement between you and a client.
  • Consumer Guarantees Act. You're using the listing for business, so the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 doesn't apply, as far as the law allows.
  • Liability cap. As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll show the new version when you next sign in, and tell you about important changes by email. If you keep using your listing after a change, you accept the new terms. Each version is recorded with the date you accepted it.

15. New Zealand law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
